M L King Game Recap

Jr. Varsity vs M L King HS on 3/17/2012 2:30:00 PM
Posted Saturday, March 17, 2012 by Ron Fisher
Grady had an outstanding outing Saturday afternoon.  By halftime the lead was 12-0 and at the end 18-1.

The MLK team was tall and very physicial. What this new team lacked in stick skills they made up with determination and intensity.

Offensively, the mid line scored 17 goals:  Deya - 7, Salome - 5, and Lindsay - 5.  Both Deya and Lindsay did not miss a shot.  Jordan Ross scored once and Linda Lewek had her goal called back due to an MLK foul.

Following Coach Katy's drills on Thursday,  scoring was much improved due to better positioning by the offensive.  Recogniton should go to Tenciah Dixon who made a perfect pass to Lindsay Van Beck leading to a score.

Defensively, MLK was only able to take 5 shots on goal and three of those were called due to crease violations.  Tenciah Dixon forced at least two turnovers.

The new girls helped Grady to win most of the ground balls and Grady intercepted at least 4 pass attempts.
